Building a LEGO ancient Asian temple is a fun project to work on. The overgrown look (plants creeping up the walls, a tree breaking through the roofline) gives it that "lost in the jungle" feel without going overboard. Throwing in a couple of explorers making camp nearby adds a nice story element and gives the scene some life beyond just the building itself. Good mix of architecture and atmosphere.
In true old-fashioned adventurers style I've added an old camera on a tripod. One of the explorers uses it to carefully document everything in and around the temple.
The explorers have had a long journey to get to the temple and plan to stay for further exploration. Time to unpack the supplies and set up camp!
I included a rotating mechanism inside the temple. It is heavily inspired by the Sukhothai region in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. I took the idea from the many cog and water related puzzles in the game. The wheel rotates through the water and simultaneously the other cogs inside the temple start moving. You can move everything by turn the round brick on the side of the build.
To make the temple look like it hasn't seen civilization ages I included a tree on top of the temple.
As a small addition to give the build a bit more body I've added this small structure. It is inspired by Prambanan temple in Indonesia.
