Marshall College

After seeing Marshall College in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, I couldn't resist thinking about how I could build this with Lego. After lots of trial and error I came up with a design that I feel quite proud of. The result of hours of planning, ordering new parts and building is a modular building that represents one of the universities Indiana Jones has worked at with an interior that combines a lot of fun parts from the movies and game! Inside is a museum featuring some interesting exhibits, a library, Indiana Jones' office and a classroom (it is a university after all).

Marshall College

The front view of the building shows Mutt and Marion standing in front of the college. On the right side on the sidewalk there are a couple of crates and an old vase. These are a fun little reference to the warehouse scene in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Museum

The museum contains artifacts from a lot of Indy's adventures. The centerpiece is the Ark of the convenant. On another display cabinet there are "possible" holy grails (Elsa doesn't choose wisely), stones from the temple of doom and a Crystal Skull. Among the visitors are some familiar characters like: Elsa, Irina Spalko, Voss and Kazim. Of course Marion is ther too!

The Library

The Library seemed like a place that should be included in an Indiana Jones theme MOC. Inside the library is Henry Jones sr. who is being interviewed by Gina Lombardi for her next big story. Through the library we head upstairs to Indy's office.

Indy's Office

Marcus Brody and Indiana Jones are discussing the next artifact that needs to be investigated. I tried to make the office look like the version in The Great Circle as much as possible.

The Classroom

A college is not complete without a classroom. The design of the benches is inspired by the ones in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Normally I only put minifigures in my builds with skintone colours. Since this MOC is all about adventurers, I felt I could make an exception. The classroom is filled by characters from my youth: Miss Pippin Read, Dr Killroy and Johnny Thunder are joined by Jake Raines. These Characters from the Orient Expedition theme from the 2000s belong in a museum. So maybe, this is the right place for them!

About this MOC

For those interested: this MOC can be disassembled in a couple of main parts:

The Library and staircase are on the left side of the tower. This whole part can ce removed to view the inside.

The Tower and the right side of the building are attached to each other but the first floor with Indy's Office and the classroom can be lifted of the museum.
